Beauty review: KORRES White Tea Fluid Gel Face Cleanser

A good face cleanser is the alpha and the omega of any beauty routine: it cleanses the face of grime, dirt, and makeup, and helps to fight ageing in the long run. The good face cleanser is also vigorous against stubborn cosmetics and sebum yet soft enough not to disturb the skin balance.

In my case, the problem ‘Face Cleanser’ was one of the most difficult to resolve. My skin is super sensitive and reactive to basically everything. I recall the astonished face of the drugstore lady who could not understand how I got a severe allergic reaction to Bepanthen, a nappy ointment safe enough for babies (and common mortals who get their ink done)  but apparently not for me!

Anyways, spotting a good face wash was difficult to me because even the softest of them would dry out my skin resulting in excessive oil production and acne breakouts. Moreover, there are so many options out there, yet none really combines all-in-one. I would love having a little miracle that could remove makeup, refresh the skin, fight acne and keep my face young and radiant for ever, but that’s just wishful thinking.

Soften by day, fighting acne by night: the 3 faces of face cleansers

Currently, I use 3 face cleansers to treat different skin needs. KORRES White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser is my morning cleanser, Avéne Cleanance Gel Cleanser is my acne-SWAT night cleanser and the iconic Bioderma Sensibio H2O is my makeup remover. It sounds quite fussy, but, with skin like mine, a.k.a. sensitive, blemish-prone, reactive, dehydrated, and oily, well, I didn’t really have a choice.

KORRES White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser

KORRES White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser is the most gentle yet effective cleanser out there, delicately cleansing and revitalising the skin without drying it out. It softly removes grime and grease without stripping the skin off its oils.

I find it very soothing and it does not irritate my acne-prone, sensitive skin. Even with daily use, it does not trigger any blemish breakout and it leaves my skin smooth, clear and radiant. Not to mention its lovely fresh aroma, reminiscent of delicate peach blossoms and ice tea. I can’t think of any better scent to wake me up in the morning!

It comes in a luxurious, silky gel formula that turns slightly foamy once water is added. Although most of the foaming face cleansers over-dry the skin, this one only lathers enough to dissolve excess oil and dirt. After rinsed off, it does not leave the skin tight.

Featuring hydrating oat proteins and polyphenols-rich white tea extracts, it offers antioxidant protection against environmental factors. With 88.3% natural content, it’s also ideal for folks who look for natural skincare products.

Its formula is another reason my skin loves the KORRES White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser. I am super allergic to a wide range of cosmetics and skincare ingredients, like petrolatum and paraffinum liquidum. KORRES created a cleanser that is suitable for all skin types -including the most sensitive and prone to allergies complexions-, since it is free of*:

petrolatum, mineral oil, silicones, parabens, propylene glycol, ethanolamines, SLES, ALES, synthetic dye, phthalates, polycyclic musks, retinol, animal by-products

It is a decent makeup remover as well. It is not that vigorous with long-lasting formulas and waterproof mascara, but it works just fine removing eye-shadows, blush and lipstick. For instance, it easily sweeps away one of the most hardcore lipsticks: Ruby Woo by MAC.

  • A bottle of 200 ml lasts for 6+ months with everyday use
  • Dermatologically tested
  • Excellent eye tolerance
  • Active ingredients: oat proteins, white tea extracts, and minerals | £15 for 200ml from Amazon

In a nutshell

If you have sensitive skin or you are fighting acne and you need a very gentle, natural face cleanser to refresh your skin in the morning, then look no further: KORRES White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser is ideal for you!
